The successful incumbent will primarily be responsible for coordinating all aspects of the logistics function by ensuring minimal disruption to production and import/ export processes. The incumbentÃ¢€™s success will hinge on his/ her ability to ensure that stock is always readily available in adequate supply for export purposes or production e.g. canning operations. The incumbent will work intrinsically with the supply chain function to ensure continuous delivery to the relevant customers and internal/ external stakeholders and coordinate import/ export logistical operations of which success will primarily depend on efficiency in export/ import planning and effectiveness in coordinating product movement, vessel shipment and custom clearing processes. Proactively assume an advisory function by providing direction on all phases of international logistics, assess and interpret contract terms and ensure adherence to contractual obligations and Service Level Agreements by service providers. Furthermore, determine logistical needs in the event of emergencies/breakdowns and prioritizing actions to ensure minimal effect on production. The incumbent will work closely with various stakeholders hence will be expected to nurture cordial relationships with service providers, remote logistics/ export base and clients. Supervise the stock control function by overseeing the internal acceptance of orders and direct sales, the entering of finished products on the stock system etc. In addition, oversee the effective collection, quality checks and recording of all incoming material and stock according to the organizations procedures and the delivery note. Apply a hands on approach in dealing with challenges ranging from stock variances, unallocated cash, incorrect cost allocations etc.
