The primary objective of this position to provide support to the Executive: Strategic Finance. It offers advisory support services and financial strategic input, to contribute towards the attainment of the key organizational strategic objectives.The successful incumbent will among other things; develop, analyse and make recommendations on key financial information to support sound management decision-making for stability and growth;participate in the crafting and alignment of the unitÃ¢€™s performance strategy and goals; facilitate and consolidate the annual budgeting process at line manager level; liaise with operational/ line managers to produce monthly management accounts and provide commentary to the Executive Strategic Finance on significant variances; monitor and report on cash flow movements as well as provide advice on cash flow related decision making. Additionally, to proactively evaluate financial reporting systems and internal controls, as well as accounting and collection procedures; recommend changes to existing procedures, operating systems and other financial control functions. More specifically the key areas of focus for this position, include financial analysis and forecasting; business process application; financial performance evaluation; budgetary facilitation; financial planning, control and reporting; audit support services and compliance with IFRS. The incumbent will also work in close collaboration with the Executive: Strategic Finance and the Risk Officer in conducting regular risk assessments. As a senior member of the team, he/she will facilitate an assessment of the unitÃ¢€™s knowledge, skills and ability requirements; empower and align human capacity and roles to organisational objectives; implement and oversee the unitÃ¢€™s performance management process requirements as well as make recommendations for talent retention and succession planning programmes.
